WACOM 604B TO 6 METER HAM BAND BY N4XW & AG4TI
We're starting with a set of Wacom 604b duplexers made for 35 to 40 mhz. We're converting them to 6 meter 53 & 52 mhz.
Our freq. are 53.07 tx and 52.07 rx. Before you start make sure you know we're not professionals at this. We were guessing
at everything we did. They come out fine and work as should. Be careful with the notch, you may want to cut it a little longer and check it and then shorten it as you go. Remember these were 604b's it could be different on other models. Good Luck!!
To begin with remove the notch assembly from the tx can.
Drill rivets out of bottom of can. Just drill the head off and punch the rest out with a punch or nail. Tap bottom inward with hammer and remove.
Remove plunger cap.
Remove big nut from top of can. The nut is brass so we used a boxed in wrench. Its on tight so it will take some pressure to remove it. The nut is 1 5/8"
Remove 3 nuts from top of theaded rod.
Remove plunger and copper tube from can.
Take a torch and heat large nut and remove. The threaded cap on top of nut will come out also. It will take a few miutes to get it hot enough. We took a cresent wrench and tapped on the nut from behind. Be careful and don't mess the threads up.

Cut copper tube with a pipe cutter. Then clean cut end with Dremel Tool and sandpaper. We cut the pipe at 44", if your freq. is high than you will need to make is a little shorter.  You can test the can without soldering everything together.
